100% Cotton – All the Fish (Tea Dye Stamp Print)
This is a beautifully soft and unusual Tea Dye Fish Stamp print. It is light weight and perfect for blouses, so think about looser styles, gathers and frills. The fabric falls in folds close to the body, and it’s lovely and fine and can take a lot of gathering. It has a slight sheen and will feel beautiful next to the skin. It would be great for more voluminous sleeves, but would also be lovely in classic shirt style with a collar and cuffs. This is an excellent quality designer end / dead stock fabric. It is semi-transparent, but flesh underwear should put things right. You might need some kind of slip for a skirt, depending on the fullness. Once it’s around your whole body, I find some semi-transparent fabrics often don’t need a lining.
140cm Wide. See last image for more details.
For your cloth edit consider: semi-fitted or looser shirts, blouses, tops and tunics; dresses (eg. kaftan, tunic, loose shirt dresses and wrap dresses with some fullness), skirts (eg. wrap, midi and maxi, gathered, pleated). It would also be amazing in PJs.
We stock so many beautiful indie patterns that would be a perfect match with this cotton. Here are some suggestions:
Cotton is an easy care fibre as it is strong when wet, and so it can be machine washed. Nevertheless, this is a finer fabric, so take come care. Use a mesh garment bag, use a gentle setting, shake out when wet and place on a hanger to dry (or dry flat). To prevent fading, wash inside out and dry in the shade. Cotton can take a hot iron but start on a cooler setting, spot test, and iron on the wrong side. Use a pressing cloth to prevent over ironing ‘shine’.
