100% Japanese Cotton - Paradise Garden - White
This Fabric is sold in units of 50cm (= .5m; ½ m). For example, if you want 2.5m, then enter the quantity ‘5’. As Cloth Edit only receives limited quantities of each fabric, err on the side of caution when ordering. Take into account any additional length etc.
Every effort has been made to present the fabric as accurately as possible. If the precise colour, weight and feel of the fabric is important for your decision, and the photos aren’t giving you enough detail, the best option to eliminate disappointment is to use the Swatch Service. Each Swatch is .50c. See under the 'About' tab for more details.
The gloriously vibrant Paradise Garden design, is now available with a white background. This light weight 'Uri' 100% cotton has a Japanese jacquard, 'Uri' effect which gives the fabric interesting dimension. The base cloth has a 'jacquard' effect applied to it, and is then printed, resulting in depth and vibrancy. The print is generally non-directional, although the birds seem to be either vertical or to one side. It is a very pleasing 144cm wide, which is much wider than most Japanese cottons.
This cloth is perfect for staying cool in summer, but would be a beautiful shirt or blouse at any time of year. The sections of fabric with no 'jacquard' application are more transparent, but this is detracted by the print and overall effect. You may want to line skirts. For tops you may find that all you need are black undergarments or a cami. We hope you enjoy this delicious fabric.
For your cloth edit consider: loose tops/blouses/shirts or wrap tops. The fabric is light but holds some shape so consider dresses such as wraps, tunics, and shirt dresses. A full or wrap skirt would also be beautiful.

While cotton can generally be machine washed and tumble dried without any problem, this is a lightweight and delicate fabric, so take more care of the cloth/garment, so hand wash or and use a short / delicate cycle and place inside a mesh washing bag. Wash colours separately. The finished garment will last longer and look better if it is shaken out when wet, and placed on a hanger to dry. Tumble drying will shorten the life of the garment, and potentially damage the jacquard effect. Do Not Tumble Dry. To prevent fading, wash inside out and dry in the shade. Cotton needs a warm to hot iron. Conduct a spot test. Cotton is dry cleanable.
