At times new Club customers ask if they will 'see' images of the prints on launch day. Club Cloth Edit is a mystery box event, and so the images of the fabrics are not provided. I have included a general description below so that you get an idea of the print.  The idea behind it is to provide exclusive, inspiring prints that are curated around a design House theme.  It is a sewist's special treat :-)

The Inspiration

The fifth Club Cloth Edit offering is once again inspired by the Italian fashion House that has the initials ‘D’ & ‘G’, but this offering is specifically inspired by their iconic ‘scenic’ prints.  

The print I have selected is spectacular😍❣️  It is not a copy of a D & G print, but is inspired by this label’s stunning ‘scenes’ that they’ve featured in their collections over the years.  You can see many of the scenic prints in the Cloth Edit Pinterest Board.   I provide some more specific details on the inspiration (and my makes) in the Club Cloth Edit brochure that is included in the box.

 

The Cloth Options

Select either Tencel or the Linen, or get both fabrics for different garments.  Whether you choose the Tencel or the Linen, the prints have the same colours, so you could use both cloths for a co-ord (for example, the Tencel for an oversized shirt or blouse, and the linen for a skirt or pants).  

• 100% Tencel
• 145cm Wide
• 120gsm (a bit more substantial than some viscoses.  Light, floaty, and perfect for summer)

or

• 100% Linen
• 135cm Wide
• 150gsm (a lighter weight linen without being transparent, and perfect for summer)

 

You may decide to line or wear a slip under your Tencel or Linen dress, but I found no need to do this.  

The House of D 'SCENIC' Print ~ General Description

While many of the D & G ‘Scenes’ are larger scale, this Club scenic print is a breeze to work with.  It features a smaller scale 'scene' of approximately 30cm width x 20cm height, and there are lots of lovely elements to the composition.  There are 4-5 repeats across the fabric width.

The scene depicted could be several mediterranean summer holiday destinations, but there is one that readily comes to mind 😉.   I will have more about that in the Club Cloth Edit brochure. 

The predominant colours are blue, white, with pink, red, and green.  If ever there was a print made for a celebration of spring | summer, this is it.  The print has ‘light and shade’:  that is, there is colour, but also quiet moments.  The balance is superb.  I don’t want to give too much away.  This has been in the works for 6 months, so it was wonderful to sew my dress, and finally offer this print to you.    You will see many D & G 'Scenic' prints towards the top of the D & G board in Cloth Edit's Pinterest page.

The Presentation 

 
This Club Cloth Edit offering comes in a quality white matt box with a magnetic closure, which should come in handy for storing your bits and bobs in your sewing space.  It’s perfect for your current project, sewing tools, or for your tracing supplies.  The box is adorned with a band of navy, and then a generous double satin pink ribbon.
