I AM Patterns - Gaia
About the Gaia
The Gaïa is a sleeveless cami top with a V-shaped neckline. The unique feature is the ribbons which gather the fabric at my shoulders. It is both graceful, and something you will wear all through summer, or under jackets in cooler weather.
A number of I Am Patterns have overlapping pieces, in an effort to reduce paper. The pattern pieces do not overlap in this pattern though.
The packaging for I AM Patterns is beautiful but tricky to get into without ripping the lovely gold card that backs the pattern. Our suggestion is to jiggle the pattern down as far as it goes, and neatly cut off the top of the pattern. You will need to snip off approximately 1.75cm, but take care to steer clear of the pattern itself.
The Fabric
You can use innumerable light and medium weight fabrics. Poplin, washed linen, chambray, viscose, crêpe, tencel, (and Cloth Edit suggests one or our beautiful designer silks). Washed linen, viscose, tencel and silk will offer more drape.
