I Am Patterns - Juliette
I AM Patterns' Juliette, is a short sleeve blouse, with a delicate collar that is beautifully shaped at the back. The Juliette buttons down the back. It is smart yet original, and the fabric choice could range from classic black with a contrast white collar, to the most delicate print. It is perfect for the warm weather, but great for under a jacket.
In an effort to reduce paper usage some pattern pieces overlap with each other, so you will need to trace the pattern on paper or using Cloth Edit’s Vilene Light. It is fantastic for tracing patterns, and you can even sew it, which makes it great for fitting. (Note - the overlapping is neither extensive nor hard to discern).
The packaging for I AM Patterns is beautiful but tricky to get into without ripping the lovely gold card that backs the pattern. Our suggestion is to jiggle the pattern down as far as it goes, and neatly cut off the top of the pattern. You will need to snip off approximately 1.75cm, but take care to steer clear of the pattern itself.
I AM Patterns suggests poplin, batiste, cotton twill, cotton flannel cotton, modal, and viscose for your Juliette.
Shirt: 1 1/8 yards by 55” wide
Collar: 8’’ by 60’’
- 8 buttons of 3/8’’ diameter (1cm)
The Juliette covers the size range of 36-46. See the last image for measurements.
The Level of Difficulty
I AM Patterns indicates that this is an 'intermediate' pattern.
