‘Oxford’ weave cotton fabric has a long tradition of being a superior cloth choice for shirts. Its unique tight basketweave pattern, which is made using slightly thicker weft threads than warp threads, creates a fantastic cloth with a subtle sheen.  While the cloth is smooth and soft, it is also more durable than a regular cotton weave, and the nature of the weave also enhances breathability.   The Atelier Brunette ‘Oxford’ cottons are superb quality and are perfect for creating classic shirts and shirt dresses. Of course, all manner of garments will also benefit from the qualities of this cloth, such as loose pants, skirts, blouse and dresses.   The fabric has a little bit more structure than lighter cottons and viscoses, so keep this in mind.
