100% Silk Satin - 'Self-Love'
- Designer End
- Approx. 80gsm
- 140cm Wide
This is a sort after, designer-end, Italian 100% Silk Satin. Cloth Edit secured the only roll, and we are thrilled to pass on this unique opportunity. This cloth is normally $90 per metre, but you can have this luxurious, delicate print for close to half that price. The satin weave gives the fabric that desired finish. It’s not too shiny though, and the handle of the fabric ebbs towards a sand washed finish. It is a luxuriously ‘floppy’ rather than fly-away silk, and the drape is divine. It is a touch lighter than a good medium weight Viscose.
‘Self-Love’ is an understated heart print, in line with a sparse polka dot. The two sized hearts are not perfectly symmetrical, and the print is not directional. The print is called ‘Self-Love’ because we all deserve a lovely silk garment. This is perfect for blouses, loose-fit shirts, dresses (with lined skirts), and wonderful pyjamas and robes. This certainly needs to be worn beyond Valentine’s Day. We need a little Self Love every day.

Cloth Care:
While silk is strong, it is very elastic and thus machine washing is out of the question. The general advice is to Dry Clean only. Hand Wash at your own risk. If you risk hand-washing, always test a sample of fabric first. If a printed fabric ‘bleeds’ then you need to Dry Clean. Wash solid colours separately. Silk can only be hand wash using a gentle detergent such as a baby shampoo or specialist silk detergent as the chemicals and bleach in regular washing liquids and powders will damage the cloth and make it dull. If hand washing use cool water. Hot water is harmful. Wash inside out and handle the garment or cloth with care. Gently move around the soapy water. You can let it soak for a little while. Rinse by gently holding the cloth or garment in your hands until the water runs clear. Do not bleach, wring, or tumble dry. Do not spot clean silk. Dry flat in shade as the sun can yellow light colours. Use a warm iron and spot test.
