About Shirring Elastic

To create a fine, gathering at cuffs and on bodices, use Gutermann shirring elastic thread in the sewing machine bobbin, and your regular sewing thread in the needle.  The elastic thread evenly gathers the fabric between stitches, creating texture and elasticity.  Vary the distance between the rows of elastic to achieve different effects.
