Fabric Godmother - Scallop Star - Viscose | Linen

For the UK summer, Fabric Godmother have reprinted 'Sardinia' and 'Le Weekend' viscose linens (both incredible best-sellers) and created the gorgeous 'Pranzo' print on a cotton lawn, and the 'Scallop Star' and 'Secret Garden' prints, both stunning viscose linen blends. 

• Composition: 80% Viscose 20% Linen
• Weight:  160gsm 
• Width: 135cm 
• OEKO-TEX Standard 100
• Allow 5% shrinkage
• Directional (but you could have the shells running in either direction).

I have a penchant for shell prints, and this one is gorgeous, with its denim-y blue background, echoing the sea, and ivory scallop striped shells, lovely stars and dotted lines.  This viscose linen blend has a bit more viscose than the Sardinia and Le Weekend viscose linen blends.  Scallop Star is a bit lighter (160gsm instead of 195gsm) and is a bit smoother.  Both types of blends are stunning, but this is more like a very good weight viscose, with some fine linen texture.  Stash this for spring | summer, or wear with denim in autumn | winter.  This cloth drapes beautifully.

• This fabric is woven from a natural linen flax which can cause small visible slubs during the printing process. This texture is part of the natural charm of the fabric and not a flaw.
• The cloth is not that see-through, so you won't need to line it.  It's ideal for blouses, dresses, trousers and skirts.

Washing Instructions:

Machine washable at 30 degrees, cool iron and hang out to dry straight after washing, please note when you wash viscose it can become stiffer when wet but the softness and drape will return as it dries.  

To ensure the long life of a garment, don’t tumble dry as this breaks down the fibres. It is preferable to wash inside out. Wash colours separately. Dry in shade and inside out.  Use a warm/hot iron and spot test.
