Hokkoh Japanese Linen - 'Regent' Blue | Orange

I have been waiting a long time for this fabric, and it has not disappointed.  This is a very special Hokkoh printed linen.  It's combines bold blue (think of a strong azure) and orange (a salamander orange to be precise). The design is a floral with lots of foliage to link the blooms together.  It's a narrow cloth, but the design is non-directional, so that will help with fabric economy.  The linen is a light-mid weight and doesn't need lining; the blue background negates this.  The weight is 125gsm, so it’s perfect for dresses (think tunics, shirt dresses, fit and flare), shirts, blouses, and skirts or loose pants.

Cloth Care:

We recommend a gentle machine wash or hand washing linen. It is important not to wring the fabric or garment, so if you are handwashing, roll up in a towel to press out excess water.   It is preferable to wash inside out. Wash colours separately (30 degrees or a cold wash). Shake out the wet garment and dry flat (or on a hanger) in the shade. Use a warm/hot iron and spot test. You may need a water spray bottle to get rid of the wrinkles when you are ironing, or just embrace the beautiful crumpled look of the cloth ;-). Linen softens upon wearing and laundering. Do Not Tumble Dry.
