About the Hussard Jeans

Maison Fauve's Hussard jeans is more than a regular jeans pattern. Its high-waisted cut hugs the hips, skims the thighs and then tapered in at the ankles.  In Maison Fauve fashion, this design also includes unique features like the pretty darts that adorn the pockets.  This can be made in denim fabric, but you might want to also explore other fabric for a more elevated look. 

The Fabric

Select a non-stretch denim (*See qualification below), a tailored woollen fabric suitable for sewing trousers, a cotton twill, a jacquard (be careful that the reverse side is soft). *If you want to sew the garment in a fabric that has a little elastane, do not go over 2% elastane or elastic fiber in the composition and sew a size below the recommended size.

Yardage for sizes 34 to 52

Fabric in a width of 140cm:

• 6-12 (34-40): 150 cm
• 14-18 (42-46): 180 cm
• 20-24 (48-52) : 210 cm
• 30 cm of lining

Notions

• 110 cm iron-on interfacing
• A non-separable zip of 18 cm
• A button 15 to 20 mm
• A bias tape: the quantity of which will be chosen on the waist size of the gradation table
• Top Stitching Thread (optional for a classic jeans finishing)

The size range is 34 to 52 (European).
