Maison Fauve - Notte Dress
About the Notte Dress
What a dress! Maison Fauve designed 'Notte' especially for Christmas 2025. While this was designed with cool winters in mind, this is also perfect for light-weight 'day' fabrics to wear in the Antipodes summers. The idea behind the design was create something beautiful, elegant and feminine for the holidays and parties. Its sweetheart neckline is swoon worthy. It's such a flattering neckline. The defined waist features a pleated bodice which creates a beautiful 'line'. Its shortened sleeves and A-Line, flowing skirt with pockets combine comfort and style. In special fabrics like jacquards or velvets it is an evening dress revisited: more contemporary, danceable and luminous.
There are two back options (plain or buttoned), and two skirt lengths allow for a variety of styles and looks; from evening to more every day.
- The technical points of the pattern are: sewing darts and pleats, sewing rounded necklines with a neat finish, making a sheath construction for impeccable shoulder finishes, making a button placket, attaching elastic at the back and sewing an invisible side zip.
The Fabric
Select a light to medium fabric, between 100 and 200 g/m², which presses well to facilitate sewing pleats and necklines: poplin, dupioni, fine jacquard, chambray, light denim, in cotton, viscose, linen or tencel. Avoid fabrics that are too fluid or stretchy, as they may distort the pleats and neckline.
