Those who received the Jenerates original silicone hemmer in a previous Club Cloth Edit box loved it, and so for the most recent box I included two more genius Jenerates products: the Flex Hemmer and the Seam Circles.  The new Flex Hemmer bends in both directions. Use the holes to mark the position, pin the hemmer in place and press. It's perfect for shirt tails, necklines, skirt hems, or anything curved.  For more info visit Jen Hogg’s website.  

• It's heat resistant to 230°C
  

• It's carefully designed for durability, with no rip points.  

• You can use the holes to mark the position of the hemmer with a chalk pencil or iron-off pen:-

- in the cm version the holes are at 1cm and 2cm, and the hemmer is 3cm wide. 

• But more importantly, pin through the holes to keep it in place while you press.  Jen likes to use a felt mat (it’s a game changer, check out her HoggHacks on Instagram @jenerates), but you can just pin into your ironing board too.

• You can also use the FLEX hemmer on straight edges.  Just add a little tension when pinning to inhibit the curve.

• And a handy tip: the silicone hemmers work on a tailor’s ham without moving your fabric out of place.  The Jenerates FLEX can make an extreme curve, as shown in the photos. 

• The FLEX is heat resistant up to 230°C, won’t buckle under steam, and stays cool to the touch. It’s designed to be both functional and strong.  It’s firm enough to give you a solid edge to press against but not so thick that it creates a step in the fabric. The FLEX is tough too.  It's been  stretched to almost double its length in tests without any issues, but please don't try that at home!

• These are made in small batches in Scotland, and are packaged without plastic. Silicone rubber provides the greatest functionality for this product and accords with the principle of buy once and buy best to reduce waste.
