Schmetz is a world leader in the sewing machine needle industry, and has been manufacturing needles in Germany since 1851.
The Jeans/Denim needles have a modified, medium ball point and reinforced blade. They are designed for denim and similar fabrics (such as twill and canvas). The advanced point design is exclusive to Schmetz, and is able to penetrate extra thick woven fabrics, or multiple layers, with minimum needle deflection, thus reducing the risk of needle breakage and skipped stitches. Spend time testing different sized needles before embarking on a new project. If you regularly sew a range of different weight fabrics, then the multi-size pack is a good choice.
