Fabric Godmother - Kew - Viscose | Cotton | Linen

• Weight:  150gsm (it's a bit lighter than the classic 195gsm FG linen Viscose blend)

FG don't mention the connection to Kew Gardens for this print, but for me this stunning blue tropical print, seems to take a cue from Palm House of Kew Gardens.  The glass house was built between 1844 and 1848, and it is still at the heart of Kew Gardens.  The soft denim-y blues and (barely) off-white background offer a sophisticated take on the 'tropical print'.   This cloth is a lovely combination of viscose, cotton and linen.  It light (but not too light) and has a beautiful drape. 

• This fabric is woven from a natural linen flax which causes visible slubs during the printing process. This texture is part of the natural charm of the fabric and not a flaw.
• The cloth is not that see-through, so you won't need to line it.  It's ideal for blouses, dresses, trousers and skirts.

Washing Instructions:

Machine washable at 30 degrees, cool iron and hang out to dry straight after washing, please note when you wash viscose it can become stiffer when wet but the softness and drape will return as it dries.  

To ensure the long life of a garment, don’t tumble dry as this breaks down the fibres. It is preferable to wash inside out. Wash colours separately. Dry in shade and inside out.  Use a warm/hot iron and spot test.
