This is an expertly handcrafted cloth from India. Subtle variations and natural imperfections are not flaws, but part of its authentic charm, each piece is truly one of a kind.
The orange and purple of this unique abstract print remind me of purple skies and orange, parched earth of Australia's centre. This is a beautifully crafted cloth. It is only 119gsm, but it feels a little bit more substantial than that. It's a tight weave and perfect 'bottom' weight for summer-time pants, straight or A-Line skirts, vest tops, sundresses, shorts or a loose summer jacket. It has body, but it would also be fine with a bit of gathering, such as a lightly gathered skirt or a sundress. This would also be amazing for bag making. It will soften with washing and wear.
Like all Batiks, I'd advise to wash separately for the first wash, and maybe for the first few washes after that. See below for cloth care.

Cloth Care:
Pre-wash your Batik fabric in cold water and a vinegar solution to prevent colour bleeding. Wash the made garment separately in lukewarm water using a mild detergent. I'd recommend one without bleach (such as the Radiant brand for washing black and bold coloured garments). Don't use too much as you want to preserve the dye.
Don't tumble dry, but dry hanging up, in the shade.
