Washed 'Necessary Denim' - It's Back In Stock!!
It's back!!! This washed hemp and organic cotton denim was a fixture at Cloth Edit but has been out of stock for some time. This is one of my favourite 'staples', and many of you love it too. I've made a wrap skirt and a dress out of 'Necessary' washed denim in the past, but I have already cut some off for this summer ;-). My I suggest that it is a 'necessary' classic and versatile fabric for your stash.
It is a lovely weight, and perfect for replacing heavier denim garments during spring and summer. The washed finish is similar to a ‘vintage washed’ linen finish. It has a supple, ever so slightly crumpled surface. The hemp fibres are quite ‘springy’ and do not crease in the same way as linen can. Blended with the versatile, light and durable cotton, it is a perfect blend for summer.
Each blue 'lot' is a little different, so if you are buying more to mix with some you already have, keep this in mind. Be sure to check out the Gutermann Top Stitching Thread for a cool finish to your garment.

For your cloth edit consider: semi-fitted or loose tops, tunics and shirts, dresses (eg. wrap, fit and flare, kaftan, trapeze, tunic, shift, sheath, shirt dresses), loose pants/trousers/shorts/jumpsuits, a kimono or robe (short or full length), skirts (eg. A Line, wrap, maxi, gathered, pleated, panelled with a slight flare). It would also be great for totes and other bags.
