I AM Patterns - Hesat
I AM Patterns' Hesat is a voluminous blouse that can also be made into a dress with in-seam pockets. With my two sleeve lengths (long and short) and two garment length options, you can make Hesat into 4 different versions. Excess fabric shirred at the neckline gives me a lot of ease, making me very comfortable. The long sleeves are also fitted at the wrist with shirring. With a 70s feel as a blouse, and a baby-doll style dress, Hesat will easily find a place in your wardrobe and in your heart. Beginners will love love this pattern, and it's even perfect for sewing your first garment. As for those more experienced, they will love how quickly this pattern comes together.
A: Long Sleeve Blouse
B: Short Sleeve Blouse
C: Long Sleeve Dress
D: Short Sleeve Dress
In an effort to reduce paper usage some pattern pieces overlap with each other, so you will need to trace the pattern on paper or use Cloth Edit’s Vilene Light. It is fantastic for tracing patterns, and you can even sew it, which makes it great for fitting. (Note - the overlapping is neither extensive nor hard to discern).
The packaging for I AM Patterns is beautiful but tricky to get into without ripping the lovely gold card that backs the pattern. Our suggestion is to jiggle the pattern down as far as it goes, and neatly cut off the top of the pattern. You will need to snip off approximately 1.75cm, but take care to steer clear of the pattern itself.
Select lightweight fabrics that, if possible, don’t fray too much such as cotton voile, poplin, Swiss dot (plumetis), chambray, crêpe, viscose, silk…
The Hesat covers the size range of 36-46. The image includes measurements for other sizes, but sizes 48-52 relate to the PDF version, only available directly from the pattern company.
Level of Difficulty
I AM Patterns indicates that Hesat is a 'Beginner' pattern. The instructions are clear, with step by step illustrations.
