This is a fresh and exciting variation of Toile de Jouy inspired prints.  I adored the recent designer collections featuring both classic and ‘reverse’ toile prints (CD in particular). Some of you may have a gorgeous Toile de Jouy print from Cloth Edit’s linen collection a few years ago, and currently there are two ‘Reverse’ Toile Linen | Silk prints in the shop  (Reverse = darker background, white contrasting details).

I’ve been pining for another classic Toile linen with a white background; but something unique.  This gorgeous hot pink Graeco-Roman design is the result of my endeavours.   It features a beautiful collage of classical sculptures, architecture and urns.  The beautiful linear columns, bold arches and curved vessels stand amongst softly draped female forms and the occasional flourish of foliage.

There is a subtle but very effective shadow effect, whereby a faded copy of the design sits behind the bolder collage.  The colour is a hot pink, although you’ll note that some images look a bit more magenta.  If you check out Pantone 240 you’ll get a good indication of the colour.  The background is white, offering a cool, chic option for your mid-summer wardrobe refresh.

The cloth is the same 150gsm lighter-weight linen so man you love.  The quality is superb.  This is perfect for dresses, blouse, shirts, skirts and palazzo pants.

Washing Instructions:

We recommend a gentle machine wash or hand washing linen.  It is important not to wring the fabric or garment, so if you are handwashing, roll up in a towel to press out excess water.  To ensure the long life of a garment, don’t tumble dry as this breaks down the fibres.  If you do tumble dry the cloth, then do so on a cooler setting.  It is preferable to wash inside out.  Wash colours separately.   Shake out the wet garment and dry flat (or on a hanger) in the shade. Use a warm/hot iron and spot test.
