In anticipation of Liberty Fabric’s 150th Anniversary, this treasured fabric company are ushering in the celebrations with a new collection curated in collaboration with renowned couturier and interior designer, Federico Forquet.
“Resulting in a reinvention of Liberty Fabrics, inspired by the Avant-Garde, FuturLiberty is an exploration of unexpected Futurist and Vorticist designs from the 1960s, uncovered in the Liberty Archive and brought to life for 2023”.
“FuturLiberty began with Forquet issuing a challenge to the Liberty designers to experiment and develop Liberty’s archetypal Arts and Crafts designs, breaking away from our famed florals to reinterpret archive designs. After examining our 50,000 archive prints, Forquet and the Liberty design team have together reimagined classic designs to appear with a refreshed intensity and loud optimism”.
The subtle textures and details from the designers’ artworks have been carefully translated into this beautiful collection of fashion fabrics. The designs include “surprising geometrics, lively abstractions, and rhythmic lines”, combining Forquet’s artistic sensibilities with Liberty’s expert craftsmanship.
Lines Ballet
Lines Ballet explores a beautiful geometric landscape by flying high above the vista below. The design echoes the shapes and pattern of freshly ploughed fields, and this is juxtaposed with unexpected and bold colours.
Liberty Fabrics
Liberty Fabrics’ Tana Lawn™ cotton is created through obsession, and perfected into a modern masterpiece through a bespoke process that has evolved over a century. Tana Lawn is printed in Liberty Fabrics’ very own Printing Mill, located between Milan and Lake Como in northern Italy, using specially selected ultra-fine, long staple Egyptian cotton.
Tana Lawn has unmatchable fluidity with a silk-like touch, unique print quality and striking colour vibrancy. The cloth is machine washable and durable enough for daily wear. Create versatile, everyday simple separates, or spectacular statement garments.
