Maison Fauve - Highland Skirt
About the Highland Skirt
Say hello to the spectacular Highland skirt. This Maxi beauty features three ruffles and waistband over a pencil skirt, and it closes at the back by an invisible zipper. The elegance and movement of the skirt comes from the ruffles being partially cut on the bias. As the images show, you can wear your highland skirt in cooler months, or make a summer version in a vibrant colour for maximum effect and instant glamour.
A shortened version with 2 ruffles is also possible, requiring less fabric.
The Fabric
Select a lightweight fabric (80 to 200 g/m2), a beautiful viscose rayon, light weight chambray, fine cotton silk, cotton, crepe, very thin wool, or even tulle and silk . The pattern requires a fabric with a width of 140 cm or more.
Depending on your fabric choice, the ruffles will have more or less drape.
