About the Mademoiselle Josephine Dress

The Josephine has a gathered bodice under the bust and a slim waist.  Key features are the empire waist  with a slight V-neck.  This dress can either be formal or casual, depending on your choice of fabrics. Using crepe or viscose will give you a more dressy look for formal events of any kind. It can also be a lovely summer dress if some lightweight cotton or linen is used.

Potential technical difficulties are thoroughly addressed e.g. the back zipper installation is fully referenced in the instructions.  Adding piping to the waist belt is also optional, so don’t be afraid of it!

While most the P & M Patterns are sized 34-52, this pattern is only 32-46 (see below)

The paper pattern includes:

- the booklet in English, stating the difficulty level, the cutting layout, the step-by-step sewing instructions, along with size chart and fabric and notion requirements,

- one easy-to-read multi-size pattern sheet, with no overlapping pieces.

The Patterns are presented in a large, 'string and washer' style envelope with a clear front window, and there is room to pop in your traced pattern also.

The Fabric 

For your Josephine select lightweight cotton, viscose, crepe, linen, baby cord, all kinds of shirt fabric with  nice drape.

Sizing

The size range for this pattern is 32-46, which covers bust measurements from 29 1/2 Inches - 41 3/8 Inches.
